Objectives:

• To understand how to carve a figure out of an empty background and create a sense of depth using only light and texture.
• To work in a high key value range.
• Layering mark making. Destroying areas and rebuilding. Purposefully applying paint in a way that will not stay on the surface for long. Learning to control wet and dry paint.
• To learn a different process of art making in order to find my own competencies and incorporate into a method of picture making that is right for me.
