“Summer” – sketch
Acrylic, Oil, Tar
Objectives:
- Trying new processes on different surfaces.
- Breaking down figures into shape patterns. I love how the child developed in the sketch. In the final version, though, I compromised certain areas and lost a lot of the design qualities.
- To evoke a feeling of being in a particular environment.
- To develop and incorporate processes of picture making that are new and exciting to me. For this particular piece, I was still learning how to interpret and apply texture in unusual ways. Since I relied more on digital to copy and paste sections of the painting, I can now see the digital fingerprint. Though, I appreciate some areas over others. I needed to apply refinement more consistently throughout.
